The Talbot Gallery Studios was set up in 2005 by Elaine Grainger to provide support for graduate and emerging artists through the provision of affordable studio spaces and exhibition opportunities. This ethos is exemplified by the annual Most Promising Graduate Award in which one student receives a studio fully paid, for a year and an exhibition to show his/her work. The space consists of an exhibition area and six studios and benefits from its city centre location. Located in Dublin 1, the gallery contributes to the cultural identity of the area through the organization of events that attract a broad audience and encourage interest in the contemporary visual arts.
Talbot Gallery Studios is an arts based organisation that endeavours to instigate vibrant artistic practice, to persuade and facilitate inspiration, and to act as a public art resource centre.
The aim of the Talbot Gallery Studios is to provide recent graduates and emerging artists working in all visual art disciplines with affordable studios and the resources which they need to sustain a professional art practice. We strive to provide a supportive creative environment in which artists can flourish while also building creative partnerships and initiatives with a range of organisations from other local and national arts organisations, to businesses and local authorities. Talbot Gallery Studios deliver a range of projects enabling diverse groups of people and individuals to access, participate in, learn through and develop a greater awareness of the visual arts.
